Dr. Nayab Javed
Dr. Nayab Javed is currently working as an Assistant Professor (Adhoc) in Department of Gender Studies. She served as a Lecturer (BS-18) in Department of Gender and Development Studies, Lahore College for Women university, Lahore from 2018- 2022. She has completed her PhD in Gender Studies from University of the Punjab, Lahore and University of Manchester, UK (Split Program). She is a recipient of various research fellowships including International Research Support Fellowship at University of Manchester, UK, 2020 (HEC Funded), Faculty Exchange Program at Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, 2019 under HEC funded project “Strengthening faculties of LCWU”; Summer Course Fellowship at Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, 2019 (LCWU & AIT, Thailand Funded). She has widely published and presented several research papers at national and international level in the field of Gender and Development Studies. She taught courses at Undergraduate and post-graduate level at Department of Gender Studies, University of the Punjab and take research students at undergraduate and post graduate level at Department of Gender Studies.
She is part of numerous committees at the departmental level including Disciplinary Committee, Harassment Committee, Departmental Doctoral Committee and Board of Studies. She is also the member of Punjab University Journals Steering Committee.
She is also working as a managing editor of Journal of Women, Peace and Security, published by Department of Gender Studies, University of the Punjab, Lahore. She is the regular reviewer of many International and national journals in the discipline of Gender and Development Studies.
Projects
She has been working as an active team member in project LCWU Initiative for faculty Capacity Building in Partner Universities under US-Pakistan University Partnerships Grants (UPGP-2022) funded by The United States Government administered by United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) at Lahore College for Women University, Lahore. She worked in project as CO-PI (Planning & Designing Phase), Master Trainer and as an Editor of Handbook of Gender Studies.
Most recently, she is working on new project titled as Gender and Peace Building as a Co-PI funded by USIP, Pakistan (2023). Her research interests lie in the field of Gender and Sustainable Development, Human Rights, Gender and Peacebuilding, Women in Politics and Women Development.
